One of the biggest game changers when it comes to facing everyday life and dealing with challenges that come up along the path of our life’s journey is gratitude.
Having an “attitude of gratitude” can dissolve the roughness of even the toughest situation and allows us to learn and grow from our experiences. Gratitude acts like a magnet and draws to us whatever it is we’re focused upon.
“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.
The more thankful I became, the more my bounty increased. That’s because, for sure, what you focus on expands. When you focus on the goodness in life, you create more of it.” – Oprah Winfrey
If when you wake up in the morning you’re not feeling inspired, or you get irritated by things that happen during the day, you feel down, defeated, things aren’t going how you want it to, it’s not what you expected or planned, you feel stuck or no matter how hard you try to achieve your goal, it seems to elude you, then it’s time to stop and take a pause.
Whatever is going on in your life right now, whether it appears to be good, bad or indifferent is of no consequence. How it seems or appears is purely based upon your perception.
Life is always going to be going on regardless of whether it fits in with our expectations or not. Life is a magnificent flow that unwraps like a beautiful gift and like a gift, it is not so much about what the gift is but rather how we choose to react or respond to it.
What is behind the gift is priceless. What is behind the gift is the unfolding of our divine destiny that is not always apparent in the moment. It needs time for the full appreciation of the whole picture to emerge.
What is behind the gift of life is the Grace of God that is guiding us towards who we are to become and encouraging us every step of the way. All we need is to trust and have faith in the power and wisdom of the Creator that is far greater than what we ever could imagine, orchestrating every twist and turn while chiseling and sculpting away at our ego so that we surrender to the Divine calling that leads us home.
Gratitude is a quality that endears us to the Divine, as it is our recognition, our re- “cognizing” and appreciation of this most sacred gift, the union between us and the Creator. We are all in essence, God’s creation and when we stop and take time out to truly be grateful for this gift of life that we have, this divine expression of God that we are, it automatically gives rise to waves of bliss that is imbued in the fabric of life itself. When Samhita (Source, Self) became completely awake and aware of it’s own Self, it thrilled in the bliss of its own awareness. When we are awake and aware of our own true nature, when we experience gratitude, we get to thrill in the Grace of God and it smooths out our path and lights the way for us to keep moving forward.
Gratitude draws more Grace of God into our life and magnetizes us so that we continue to attract blessings and opportunities that are inexorably drawn to us. It reminds us that it’s not always about doing, but rather more about being and embracing the Divine each day. It is about falling more and more in love with the Creator each and every day so that there is no distinction between where we begin and end. We are cradled in that blessed state of Pure Consciousness, Pure Awareness.
Having gratitude is the single most important thing you can do to change your life. Be grateful for what you have now. Rejoice that you are alive and breathing, that you are filled with Life Force, the energy of Creation, that you are loved unconditionally by the Almighty that created you, and that you are a gift of the Creator. Be grateful for the fact that you are uniquely you, that no 2 people are the same, that you have gifts, talents and skillsets that God has placed inside of you to share with others, including your smile, your warm and loving embrace, your heart, your kindness, compassion and caring.
The more grateful you are, the more you get.
It is not always about doing more to get more. It is about doing less to achieve more. There is no need to struggle with resisting the ebb and flow of life. When you are riding on the wave of Pure Creative Intelligence, when you are in the flow of the Divine, you are carried by grace itself, and that invincible force makes anything possible even overcoming that which seems insurmountable. You are able to do the impossible.
Gratitude is Grace of God. If you are not feeling the love then you have not made the time to honor that grace that lives inside of you, that breaths you, fills you with inspiration and beats your heart.
Take time out each day for communion with the God of your understanding. Be grateful for all the qualities you have, as they are a gift to others. It might be your enthusiasm, your insightfulness, your laughter, your dedication, your loyalty, your courage, your sense of humor, the way you sing, the way you dance, the way you walk, your sense of style and elegance, your humility and grace, your calmness, they way you listen, your sweetness, your fierceness, your tenacity and perseverance, your love.
Keep a gratitude journal. When you wake up in the morning, spend a few minutes writing about what you are grateful for or when you have time at the end of the day take a few moments to note what you are thankful for from your day.
Share what you are grateful for with others, with your loved ones and colleagues. No question there are times when life can be difficult or tough to navigate, gratitude will make the burden easier to bear in those times. For the rest of the time, gratitude helps to make life heaven on earth.
Plant the seeds of gratitude wherever you go and you will be spreading grace. Radiate your gratitude to everyone you touch and you will light up the world.
