As a new year begins and an old one comes to an end, it’s a good practice to take the time to reflect on what has occurred over the last 12 months; a time of self reflection and self awareness.
Sitting in my room writing, looking out the window, I am grateful for the blue sky, hearing the sounds of birds singing, seeing the wind gently move the leaves of the trees, I am grateful to be alive, to be healthy, to have people in my life that I love and care about and to have people that love and care about me.
I feel so full with all the blessings I have been given and continue to be given.
The beauty of life is not just in the big things that happen which may be spectacular, it is also in the subtle almost non perceptible things that we can tend to overlook as they are automatic or common place.
We don’t stop and think about breathing and yet each time we breathe, we are filled with inspiration, with life force, with the Divine and the opportunity to fill our hearts with love, kindness and gratitude for all the gifts we are and have by virtue of the fact that we are a living breathing human being.
Each moment, is an opportunity to reflect and rejoice in being alive! Yes, there are times when life is difficult, hard and there are things that happen that seem “insurmountable” and yet I am reminded as I continue to breathe that I have overcome them all. That there is always hope, faith and Divine Grace that fills me with humility and awe in the realization of the magnificence of the Creator and the sheer perfection of this remarkable voyage called life.
I am loved and am held in the heart of God and the Divine Mother and there is such a profound peace in knowing I am one with everything. Life is full of miracles.
The twinkle in someone’s eye, the smile on one’s face, the joy of laughter. These are all beautiful miracles that spread instantaneously and fill the hearts and minds of others with light.
There is no night sky that is completely black. There are always stars twinkling from the remotest parts of the galaxies beyond that remind us that we are filled with light if we take a moment to look up and remember.
I close my eyes and take a moment to count my blessings and they are too numerous to count. As I open my eyes again I see a sky filled with stars and the vastness and wonder of the Universe that surrounds me. It envelops me in its warm embrace and connects me to the Divine heartbeat that beats the heart that is within us all. It is one Divine heart, one Divine beat that brings us all together as one.
I feel a smile sweep across my face and my heart is filled to overflowing.
This is what I am grateful for.
I am grateful for you….
