Innocence is a state of purity. Like a young child that looks out at the world and marvels at everything that surrounds it. It is the sheer joy of existence that doesn’t require the need to know, a schedule or agenda. It is creativity experiencing itself as itself, flowing as pure being in the moment that is now. It marvels and is in awe at the beauty that is the medium called “life” that contains it and is an expression of the Divine that lies within.

We all come from one source a universal higher power that is pure creative intelligence, pure awareness. It is a state of divine grace, innocence, where we are “In No Sense” – we are beyond, mind, emotions and our senses.

Time itself gets suspended as reality unfolds in all its glory.

There is no contamination from beliefs, judgments, blame, shame, guilt or any other construct of human perception. There is only the radiance of the Self.

Innocence is light, it is what we see in a newborn baby, in a child’s eyes, in their outstretched hand. It is as soft as a snowflake, delicate and transparent as a dragonfly wing, vulnerable and open as a gentle caress and as powerful as Nature herself.

When looking at the world through innocence, it seems softer and more inviting. It beckons us to linger a while and drink it in.

“In their innocence, very young children know themselves to be light and love. If we will allow them, they can teach us to see ourselves the same way.” – Michael Jackson

“You were born a child of light’s wonderful secrets… you return to the beauty you have always been.” – Aberjhani

Innocence is something we are all born with. It is our natural state. It extols the purity of the spirit. It is an inherent virtue that no matter what life circumstances we dredge through, it remains intact. Like a lotus that rises up through the mud, like the phoenix that rises up out of the ashes, it remains untouched and invincible.

“Come with me where dreams are born and time is never planned.” – Peter Pan

Innocence is the Self in full and gay abandon wild and free expressing itself before being censored or edited by the rationale of our thinking.

Go back to some of your favorite moments that you’ve witnessed from that place of innocence. What impressions come to you as you recall them? Perhaps it’s laughing at something hilariously funny, the sound of your favorite piece of music, finger painting with vividly bright colors creating your masterpiece, jumping into the ocean for the first time and splashing about, being enthralled by the first time a butterfly landed on your hand, the first time you tasted a strawberry, running through a field of flowers, dancing in the rain, lying on your back watching clouds float by or watching all the stars twinkle in the night sky.

Whatever your experience was, become aware of the thrill of pleasure it brings and notice how it seems to “light you up.” That is the magic of innocence.
