The hero’s journey is not for the faint hearted. It is a quest that delves further than most individual’s dare to go. It is the spirit’s calling to take the path back to its origin, back to God, back to the Creator.

“You see her style you think she nice
You look at her whip you say the whip tight
You look at her crib you thinkin’ she’s paid
You look at her life, now you think she’s got it made
But everything she’s got the girl’s been given
She calls it a blessing but you call it living
When it comes to money she can be a hero
She writes them checks with a whole lot of zeros
But what you don’t know is when she get home
And get behind closed doors, man she hits the floor
And what you can’t see is she’s on her knees
If you ask her she’ll tell you
It’s the God in me
It’s the God in me” – Mary Mary “God In Me” Songwriters: Erica Atkins-Campbell / Trecina Atkins-Campbell / Warryn Campbell

The hero has to show up and be responsible, step up and do whatever is necessary and extend further than what is imaginable. No one gets to see what takes place behind the scenes, behind the curtain, the silent endeavors that are the constant heartbeat of connection with the Divine.

The hero’s journey is fraught with all sorts of challenges, obstacles and battles with limiting belief systems, the BS, the stories that we make up, the Dragons that are the thoughts in our own minds. The storms and perils of emotions that we courageously go out to fight, to overcome to be the victor, only to discover that there are multiple layers and levels and that it may take a lifetime (perhaps many) so buckle up your seatbelt and take off for the ride of your life!

So you want to be a hero? You want a happy ending? Be the hero of your own life and rescue yourself.

Being the hero takes courage, patience, fortitude, solitary pursuits and time alone for self reflection, self analysis, honesty, acceptance of the truth, letting go of attachments, being a visionary, fearless, love, compassion and more.

Along the way you get to assist the damsel in distress, the prince under duress, you get to help them overcome their fears, worries and defeats, their self deprecating low self esteem and essentially you rescue yourself. You simply stand up and face what is going on. No drama, no fanfare you do it “Nike style” you simply Just Do It.

You get to be uncomfortable. You get to sit in some tension for a while as Robert Fritz describes in his book “The Path of Least Resistance.”

But so what? No one ever died from getting brutally honest and being uncomfortable.

Just their ego got a little bruised and bent out of shape. Quite frankly, if the truth be told, it’s not the ego that is meant to be running the show anyway. It’s your spirit.

Let your spirit lead you! It is like the steam engine that will forge through wild and rugged terrain to get you to your destination. Are you ready for some adventure? Then hop on board the train. It’s leaving the station that has your name on it. It’s ready to take you to your Divine Destiny.

What are you waiting for?

Let’s go!
