Genius is innate. We are all born with it, however in order for us to be successful in life, we need to take action and apply it.

Let’s take a look at the practical nuts and bolts, the qualities, mindset and behaviors  that you’ll need when applying your Genius to be successful and create the end result(s) you want.

While some of these might be obvious, are you actually applying them?

1. Put in the work

Be consistent, determined and willing to work for it.

Are you willing to do whatever it takes? You can’t short change yourself, no shortcuts. If you are halfhearted in what you do, you’ll create half assed results. Be willing to play full out all, 100% all the way through the finish line and beyond. Non-negotiable.

No excuses.

While others might be relaxing, waking up later than you, taking weekends off, that doesn’t mean anything.

To be successful at anything you don’t have to be special. You do need to be willing to show up and do what others are unwilling to do. Apply your Genius, apply your gifts, talents and skillsets and take action on that.

Show up for yourself and your dream. No one else can show up for you.

2. Be a visionary focus on your end result while making sure to execute the actionable steps that will get you there

It’s wonderful to dream big and have a vision of what you want to create. At the same time, it’s important to take the steps necessary to get you there.

To support you in this, you do your choices daily, you do spirit guidance writing twice a week.  You may also find intuitively that you imagine,  dream or get an insight about the end results that you want to create even if it is just a couple of minutes during the day or during the week.

Give yourself time and space to simply dream and imagine about what you love to be, do have and create. Factor that into your day or your weekly schedule.

As you do your choices daily, the action steps for moving you forward towards your end result become evident. It is imperative to take action on these. This will give you a plan that you can then implement by turning them into tasks and bite size action steps to schedule into your calendar.

You can then choose to complete tasks based upon whether it is your Genius and core competency  and/or have other people assist you such as your team or virtual assistants, or have other people complete them based on a core competency that is theirs and not yours.  E.g. accountants, lawyers, nutritionists, personal trainers, editors, real estate agents, mortgage broker, etc.

It’s not about the size of the steps you take. It is about consistently taking action over time.

This is what creates momentum and constructs the foundation of what you are building and creating. Consistent action over time compounds.

3. Success takes time to build

It’s not going to happen overnight. Success is a marathon not a sprint.

When Coca Cola started they only sold around 25 bottles in their first year. The company was founded in 1892. Within 3 years, in 1895 it was being sold nationwide in the US.

Coca Cola’s net worth as of August 23rd 2024 is US$300.79 Billion.

Warren Buffet started out with $1 and as of September 19th 2024 his net worth is US$144.01 Billion.

Success takes time, persistence and continuous effort, continuously applying your genius. Just because you don’t see immediate results doesn’t mean you’re not on the right path. Keep pushing forward, stay dedicated and stay focused on your vision, your end result.

4. Make yourself and your Genius your number 1 priority

Always put your oxygen mask on first. You can’t operate at your best by being depleted or running on empty. Set boundaries for yourself regarding your daily and weekly schedule. Be willing to say “No” to others so that you can schedule yourself as your Number 1 priority.

5. Have faith in yourself and who you are as a Creator

Others may doubt you, they may make fun of you, they may judge or criticize you, they may not understand you, they may bully you and/or you doubt yourself, criticize yourself and take yourself out. That will give you a zero sum result.

Instead, become aware of what is coming up for you. Take a moment to notice what belief(s) and emotions are coming up and name them.

“Oh that’s my I’m unworthy, I’m not good enough, I’m powerless, I’m not capable belief.” Examples of the disempowering emotions you might be feeling are fear, anxiety, frustration, guilt or sadness.

By recognizing what you’re thinking and feeling, this helps to neutralize the impact of your beliefs and emotions because now you are aware of what’s coming up for you instead of it being hidden from you below your conscious awareness.

Next use the premise and assume, “You are a Creator or you’re a Magician, everything is coming together magically on your behalf.”  That allows you to receive your power. It puts the power back in you. It puts being the authority back in you.

Then go into your end result by asking yourself, “What would I love to create right now?”  Close your eyes and imagine yourself standing in that end result and get a full sensory experience of what that’s like. Pick up on the emotion of your end result. It’s telling you something. Receive the wisdom from your Genius, from what it’s telling you and then take action on the insight or intuition that you receive.

6. Take care of body & mind – your health is your wealth

Give yourself the opportunity to operate and function at your best.

Do physical activity. Moving takes you out of being stuck in your thoughts and back into your body where you can then be aware of the insights and wisdom that are coming to you. By keeping physically active it supports you maintaining  optimal health, flexibility, range of motion, muscle mass, strength, endurance, coordination, it helps you to deal with stress and more.

Also cross train. This allows you to learn new skills and use different muscle groups to improve motor-coordination, improve overall body strength, stamina and performance. It also helps to prevent injuries.

Feed yourself good quality nutrition and be aware of your food  & water intake. It’s not about being perfect it’s about having a balanced diet, giving your body the best fuel so it will take care of you.

Be mindful of your mental health. Stress is something that will throw you off track. Check in to monitor your mental health and wellness. Set up balanced schedules for yourself regarding working, including time to rest, have self-care, time for being creative, having fun and playing.

Take time out to destress including playing music, dancing, meditation, reading, getting a massage, connecting with people you love.

7. There are no conditions that preclude you having what you love and having your heart

Remind yourself of this if you fall into a pity party or you are self-sabotaging. I’m too old, I don’t have what it takes, I’m not capable, I’m not good enough, I’m not worthy, I don’t belong, I’m a have not etc. These limiting beliefs are utter garbage and are definitely not the truth.

If you want a quick reminder of this, think about Simone Biles. As a gymnast, she was considered “over it” and “past it” at age 19. At the 2024 Paris Olympic Games she was the ripe old age of 27. Almost a decade older than when gymnasts throw in the towel and retire. She won 3 gold medals and 1 silver.

She has won a total of 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals. She is the world’s most decorated gymnast in history.  She is now the GOAT. The greatest gymnast of all times.

Age does not preclude you being successful in the arena of your Genius. You get to be creative instead. There are people starting out and applying their genius in their 70’s and 80’s.

You’re not old, you’re eternal! Remind yourself, you are a Creator! Anything is possible!

8. Always follow and go with your intuition, follow your instinct, follow your gut

You don’t need to believe it or trust it. Assume that it is always correct no matter what! No matter what anyone else tells you and even if no one believes in you.

Ignore the nay sayers and dare to dream!
