“Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.

Life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you respond to it.

For victory in life, we’ve got to keep focused on the goal, and the goal is Heaven.” – Lou Holtz

Victory is the sweet vindication that you have finally crossed that threshold from your past to the success and win of who you are today, in this moment.

It is about recognizing and acknowledging all the work, the blood sweat and tears that went into achieving your dream.

Today on 20th February 2020 I got to witness several victories. One that has been 11 years in the making from its inception – Hope For Prisoners had the President of the United States attend one of its graduations here in Las Vegas, Nevada and its CEO Jon Ponder is being granted a full pardon.

30 men and women in the Hope For Prisoners program graduated from their old existences of incarceration to one of a newly found freedom, to embark upon a new life and new beginnings. They commenced their 18-month journey down the path of their redemption with the support of this unique family we lovingly call “Hope.”

“Victory is much more meaningful when it comes not just from one person, but from the joint achievements of many.” – Howard Schultz

During his speech to the graduates, President Donald Trump stated, “Your future does not have to be defined by the mistakes of the past. Today, we declare that you are made by God for a great and noble purpose.” A noble purpose indeed!

For the 100 former Hope For Prisoners graduates and alumni that sat in the room, they glistened with the light of what is possible when given the opportunity to have a 2nd chance and they became the tall shoulders for others to follow in their footsteps to become community members and leaders we can all be proud of.

For one young woman in the group of the graduates, this was a special victory. After facing her demons, she has gone from rock bottom to finding the courage and fortitude to have a voice and become a role model for women. It is a privilege to have met her and I silently await her glorious ascension like a beautiful phoenix rising out of the ashes.

“Victory is the beautiful, bright-colored flower. Transport is the stem without which it could never have blossomed.”  – Winston Churchill

Life is always going to happen. Sometimes it brings what seems to be great harshness and adversity. However these are the tools of the Creator to cut, facet and polish the diamond that is contained in the spirit of a human being. Out of a lump of coal, a heavy dark stone is seemingly chiseled and fashioned via the guiding hand of God to one’s destiny.

This is the ultimate victory. It is the commencement of transformation beyond the imagination into the realm of Divine Grace and true favor.

“For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.” Psalm 56:13

I walk in the light of life. I bring true victory.

I am Hope.
